UPND MangangoOpposition United Party for National Development president Hakainde Hichilema says the ruling Patriotic Front will need to use more than magic to win the Mangango parliamentary by-election.

Hichilema said not even the cell phones Vice President Guy Scott was distributing will win the PF the election as the people of Mangango were willing give the PF a taste of their ‘donchi kubeba’.

He said the police were brutalizing the opposition while giving maximum protection to the ruling party cadres.

“The police are brutalizing the people of Mangango including competitors like ourselves. But the people still know that PF will take them nowhere so you really can’t use force, you can’t use money and people are now clear that they will do a don’t kubeba on PF,” Hichilema said.

“They will eat their money, get their cell phones, you know they are distributing cell phones, Guy Scochikala (referring to Scott) is distributing cell phones and all of those things and the people will do a don’t kubeba on them, let them continue fooling themselves.”

He added: “But I think they will lose the election unless they use magic, but where are they going to get the magic because their magic box is empty, UPND is the party of choice now.”

Mangango goes to the poll next Tuesday to vote for a new MP after the MMD’s Taundi Chiseke who was serving in the PF government had his seat nullified by the Supreme Court.
