Photos: Lipton Tea treats fans to VIP breakfast with Bovi

26 lucky fans of Bovi from “The Wake Up to Lipton Radio Show” were recently treated to a VIP Breakfast session with the comedian at the Sheraton Hotel & Suites Ikeja.  These fans, some of whom came in from Ogun, Ondo, Kogi, Owerri, Lagos, and Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Kwara states, got to spend 2 hours interacting and getting to know the comedian one-on-one. The Wake Up to Lipton Radio Show is a 5 minute recorded radio show anchored by Bovi which allows consumers and listeners to the show to start their day right by listening to funny twists on popular phrases. Airing commenced on different radio stations pan Nigeria, while also engaging listeners via the Lipton Nigeria Facebook page

According to Vivian Ihaza, Category Manager, Tea & Spreads, Unilever Nig Plc, “Lipton wakes you up mentally; it is what people take before leaving the house in the morning, or when they get to work. That is why Lipton is not just the number one tea brand in Nigeria but is also certified by Euro monitor as the number one hot tea beverage in the world”. “The radio show was conceived from a strong desire to help the Lipton Tea consumers and all listeners to the show kick-start their day in a lighter happier mood and ultimately, have a positive effect the rest of the day”.

One of the winners, Mr Egede Gift Collins, who came in from Port-Harcourt spoke about how “excited” he was to have breakfast with a celebrity like Bovi, and was grateful to Lipton for the opportunity.  Also speaking at the event, Bovi stated that having breakfast with the fans “was like a homecoming, and very satisfying”, as he finally got to put faces to some of his listeners on radio  and those who interacted with the Lipton Facebook page.

Aside from the Wake up To Lipton Radio show anchored by Bovi, Lipton has embarked on number of activities to give back to their consumers, between March and May 2014, there was the Lipton and Blue Band consumer promotion where loyal consumers were rewarded with gift items upon purchase of either Lipton tea or Blue Band margarine. There was also a Lipton tea party which was held for a select group of loyal consumers and partners. At the moment, Lipton is also being sampled freely to Muslim consumers across several mosques pan Nigeria to celebrate with them. Ihaza stated that “there would be even more activities geared towards celebrating and rewarding loyal consumers”.
