DURBAN – Wailing sirens and gunshots pierced the air in Durban’s quiet Berea suburb on Saturday.
But residents can breathe a sigh of relief as the disturbance was only part of a South African Police Service (SAPS) crime prevention day.
The SAPS is hoping to bridge the gap between the community and law-enforcement officials and maybe even inspire future police officers.
eNCA reporter Dasen Thathiah went along for the day and filed this report. Watch more in the gallery above.
