Police Nabs Suspected Armed Robbers Including Father, 3 Sons

A distress call made to the B division of the Nigeria Police Force in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Wednesday has led to the arrest of seven suspects including a father and three sons.

The father of the three armed robbers, who harbored the criminals in his uncompleted building, was arrested after he attacked the police officers.

The distress call was made at about 3:00am, local time, by one Mr Emmanuel Ebudike of no 1 Nimo Street, Oduke layout, Asaba, who alleged that the gang of robbers broke into his house and robbed him of 72,000 Naira and several handsets.

Items recovered from the robbers were a pistol, live cartridge, phones and two unregistered Seinna cars.

Also, two of the suspected robbers were wounded with gunshots, five others claimed they were innocent.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, however, pointed out that when the police team arrived at the scene, three of the robbers jumped down and ran away while two were gunned down.

Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to intensify the arrest the other suspects who escaped.
