The United States Ambassador, James Entwistle, has donated high- technology bomb disposal robots and equipment to the Nigeria Police Force.
The America envoy presented the equipment during a courtesy visit on the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a press statement by Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer, the Ambassador also reassured the IGP his country would continue offering relevant support to the force in the areas of training and security cooperation.
Entwistle also congratulated Abba on his new appointment and thanked the Nigeria Police Force for its high level of co-operation and huge partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria.
Abba appreciated the Ambassador’s commitment and thanked the US government for assisting the Nigeria Police Force in a number of areas. He described the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed by the Nigeria Police Force and the US government recently as a huge partnership that would improve and modernize police training in Nigeria.
