Liverpool v Man City takes place this afternoon, in the second of two games taking place in the Premier League.

The game takes place at Anfield, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 BST, and the game airing live in the UK on Sky Sports 1/Sky Sports 1 HD.

Liverpool head into the game bottom of the table as a result of last week’s defeat at West Brom and will be keen to get an early win under their belts.

Liverpool have won just one of the last seven Premier League games against Manchester City, although four of the other six have resulted in draws.

Few expect Liverpool to be challenging for anything other than fourth place at best, but City boss Roberto Mancini believes Brendan Rodgers can put together a side capable of challening for honours.

“I think Liverpool will fight for the title this year because they play well, they bought good players, they have a good manager and they have changed their style of play,” Mancini said.

“Every game you play at Anfield is really tough. They come from a game against West Bromwich where they didn’t deserve to lose but football is strange.

“For this I think it will be a hard game.”

City, who started their campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Southampton last weekend, are without a win in any of their last 10 competitive visits to Anfield, losing six.
