randy-travis-ready-for-workJust six months after a serious heart condition led to a stroke, country legend Randy Travis is preparing to get back to work!

An insider close to the star exclusively confirms to Closer Weekly that Randy is already starting to play his guitar, “anxious to get back to work and connect with his fans.”

And, “He’s getting his voice back now, little by little,” Randy’s dad, Harold Traywick, tells Closer of his son’s miraculous recovery.

Just a few months ago it seemed Randy was down for the count. On July 7, he was hospitalized with complications from viral cardiomyopathy, a disease that weakens the heart. A few days later he suffered a stroke. But by July 31, he’d rallied to bravely endure grueling physical therapy sessions, telling the insider he would do “whatever it takes to regain everything [he] lost.”

“Randy’s doctors are extremely pleased with his progress,” the insider tells Closer.

And that’s good news, because he’s raring to get back in the saddle. Randy feels so optimistic about the future, he’s already taking meetings to plan a comeback to promote his Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am CD, which was released last fall.
