Sata is Reponsible for Wynter, says Saunders
Political Activist Dante Saunders has said President Michael Sata has created all the leadership problems being experienced in the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) and government following the bombshell firing of Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.
Speaking in Lusaka, Saunders said Michael Sata must be held responsible because he had abandoned his party and government.
Sanders said the PF was facing major leadership challenges because some individuals and cartels within the party and government had realized that there was no leader, hence their schemes to take over the reins of power from the Michael Sata who is believed to be ailing.
He said Michael Sata’s absence from leadership roles both at party and national levels had paved way for cheap opportunists such as PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba, Director of Public prosecutions Mutembo Nchito and Post Newspaper proprietor FredM’membe to start scheming on how to wrestle power from the once populist leader.
“The thing is that Michael Sata is the one who has created all these problems we are seeing. Actually, the problem seem to be bigger than what we have been made to imagine in the recent past because two cabinet ministers have come out in the open to state that there are some people planning to dislodge Michael Sata from power. This is serious and it has been created by Michael Sata himself because he has left too much room for these people to start plotting against him,” he said.
Saunders said Zambians must remain alert because the problem in the ruling and government were too big than it was initially perceived.
He said cabinet ministers were not working, but instead, these people were spending most of their time scheming against each other while the president was absent without official leave.
Saunders said Michael Sata must step down if he was not able to take charge of his party and government because his failure to address important matters affecting the party and government.
“You cannot fool the people all the time with statements such as those from Dr Guy Scott that Michael Sata was well and working hard at State House. People want to see this man and be assured that he is well. Zambians are not gullible. They are alert people who are following these events with keen interest. It has become public information that there is something terribly wrong inside State House because it is not imaginable for anyone to have Michael Sata confined to the gates of State House,” he said.
Recently, Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda said there was a clique within the PF that was working with the Post newspapers to remove Michael Sata from government. Chikwanda said these people had targeted several individuals in government who were possible heirs to the presidency.
Chikwanda refused to mention the people causing leadership problems in the ruling but it was an indirect reference to Wynter Kabimba and his allies in the party and government. Chikwanda warned that these people would be dealt with because they were not following the right channels.
Youth and Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili also said there were some people planning to remove Sata from government. Kambwili said the cartel of people plotting against Sata was fighting government and party leaders such as himself.
