Shakas, NkomboOpposition United Party for National Development, UPND, MP for Katuba Jonas Shakafuswa says electorates will be told the truth about President Michael Sata’s incapacity to discharge his duties due to ill health.

Shakafuwsa, who is one of the UPND MPs camped in Mangango for Tuesday’s by-election, said he understands people were being stopped from discussing President Sata’s health for no apparent reason.

He said his team will discuss President Sata and his ability or lack of it with the people he is supposed to serve but has opted to hide from now nearing 60 days.

“I hear it is an offence to hint that the President is incapable of executing his functions because of ill health. We will tell the the people the truth. Let the Police prove us otherwise in court,” Shakafuswa, a former reserve police officer himself, said on his facebook page.

Mangango goes to the poll on August 19 and President Sata, as per tradition, is expected to make an appearance to campaign for the ruling party candidate Rogers Lyambai Lingweshi but reports from State House suggest his health status is not the best ally.

There are five candidates contesting Mangango among them Godwin Putu of the UPND while the MMD’s candidate is Charles Mwenzala.
