Somali military court sentences youths for killing

Somali military court has today sentenced 13 youths to death and life in prison respectively for killing an inmate in prison.

Seven were sentenced to death and the remaining six punished to life in jail.

The youths who were serving in Mogadishu prison previously after found guilty for being part of Al Shabaab militant group killed their fellow inmate in prison.

According to Somali military court spokesman Abdullahi Mohamed Muse the court has reached the decision after getting clear evidence of the crime committed.

However he said the sentenced can appeal the verdict of court within a period of one month.

Somali military court which usually deals with crimes such as terror has previously ruled the execution of several alleged members of Al Shabaab militant group in Somalia which were mainly youths.
