Somali MPs: ‘Stop killings; work the peace of Galka’o town’

MOGADISHU – Several members of the transitional government of Somalia have Friday called for the people of Gaka’o town of Mudug region to stop violence and work the peace of the town which is under the control of both Galmudug state and the semi-autonomous region of Puntland

More people were killed in indifferent assassinations including deadly attacks in mosques in Galka’o by gunmen organized as clan militias in the town recently according to locals who expressed concern over deteriorating violence there.

Abdiziz Sheik Said, one of the lawmakers of the transitional government of Somalia who was talking to the journalists in the Somali capital Mogadishu said they were very sorry for the carnage in north Galkao town calling for all the people and militias to halt the bloodshed, killings and work the peace and stability.

“It is you to respect the people and keep their rights in peace, but not to murder so we call you to stop the problems in the town. You know every body knows that murdering your people does not bring any benefits at all, so please and please, we repeat you to work the peace,” said Abdiaziz

Both administrations of Puntland and Galmudug State had said they would start crackdown operations on the security to keep the security earlier and the situation of the town still remains unstable
