Somali teen receive award for defecting from Al Shabaab
Somali military court has awarded fifteen years old and his encouraging mom for defecting from Al Qaida linked Somali militant group Al Shabaab.
Ministry of defense spokesman Mohamed Yussuf has thanked the teen mom for facilitating her son defection process.
The teen which was part of the group for nine months and trained for suicide attack has said he questioned the idea of suicide attack that ends in killing of innocent lives before deciding to quit.
He added that those who voluntary join the group are trained for suicide attack while others on combat operation.
The federal government of Somalia has the policy to provide amnesty to those who voluntarily defect from the group.
