South Darfur displaced killed for mobile phone credit
A resident of the Gereida camp for the displaced in South Darfur was shot dead, and two others were wounded on Monday.
“Seven militiamen approached the mobile phone credit kiosk of Adam Abdel Razeg in the area of Jertobak, east of Gireida town, on Monday, the first day of Eid El Fitr,” a customer who witnessed the attack reported to Radio Dabanga.
“When they wanted to rob Abdel Razeg of his money and mobile phones, he resisted, whereupon they shot him dead on the spot. Two of his friends, Abdel Rahim Hussein, and Ibrahim Abakar, who supported him, were shot too. They sustained serious injuries and had to be transferred to the hospital of Gireida.”
The assailants stole the contents of the kiosk, and also took Abdel Razeg’s horse, and his cart with them.
Adam Abdel Razeg was buried on Tuesday morning.
