Ahead of 2015 elections, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger state has advised Traditional Rulers across the country to  stay clear of partisan politics and do everything humanly possible to ensure that they put to shame enemies of Nigeria who are predicting doom for the country.

That can be done by making sure we record one of the most  peaceful transition period as well as most acceptable and credible general elections in the country.

He gave the advice over the weekend at New Busa , in Borgu Local Government of the state  shortly after the Wedding Fatia of Priness  Anifa  Haliru Dantoro, one of the daughters of the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Halliru Dantoro.

He specifically enjoined Traditional Rulers to stay clear off partisan politics with a view to maintaining their neutrality , while   those who are seeking for  elective positions next year should also ensure that they conduct themselves within the ambit of the law in order not to cause  further harm to the general public

Aliyu said,“ I advised the Traditional rulers and politicians generally as 2015 is pregnant, we must all do everything possible to be sure  that we have a peaceful election. Nobody should go about doing something that would cause harm to the people especially in this period of insecurity”.

He however charged the newly wedded couple to always resolve their problems without getting people involved, saying,  “now they are a couple, they must not allow other people to interfere or to be involved or to intervene in their affairs. They should be able to look at one another and solve their problems.”

The ceremony was held at Muhammadu Sani Memorial Central  Mosque, Borgu which had in attendance some notable Nigerians led by a former Head of state, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari , a former Military Administrator of the old Kano state , Col.  Sani Bello {rtd}  and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha {rtd} a former Chief Security Officer to a former Head of State, Late Gen. Sani Abacha,  the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers , Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar  among others.
