Tensions Rise at KCM over Suppliers

KCMProblems at Konkola Copper Mines blew up this morning when suppliers took matters in their own hands and damaged property at the residence of senior mine officials.

The suppliers angered by the none payment for services rendered to the mine that is mired into financial troubles that have several facets with some quarters of society believing that the mine is covering up their tax evasion troubles.

Residents at the Konkola Copper Mines flats had some of their windows smashed with six cars extensively damaged.

Nchanga Rangers Football club coach Fighton Simukonda had his two cars smashed in the heat of the fracas.

The atmosphere in the mining town is tense with the ‘hazy’ financial troubles that have be docked the mining firm.
