Uganda has for the second time running been drawn against neighbours Tanzania in the 2014 Africa Nations Championships (Chan) qualifiers.

The draws were conducted by Caf secretary general Hicham El Amrani at the continental headquarters in Cairo on Thursday.

Fixtures for preliminaries, first round and second round were also released at the same ceremony out of which 15 teams will emerge to join hosts South Africa in 2014.

Uganda will once again lock horns with Tanzania, Bobby Williamson’s side having bundled them out in the race to Chan 2011, which was held in Sudan.

Bobby’s outfit were, however, disappointing in Sudan, losing all three matches to finish last in their group.

Chan is an imitation of the Africa Cup of Nations but only home-based players feature in this one.

Uganda will make the first trip, facing Tanzania away in the first leg of first round between June 21 and 23 before the return between July 5 to 7, with winners progressing.

The qualifiers are played on regional basis. Two countries are drawn from the North zone, an equal number from the West A, three from West B, three from the Central, three from Central East, and two from South zone, which includes South Africa.

The seeding system from the draw considered among other things performances in the last two editions of Chan.supersport
