UK PM Claims ISIS “Make no Distinction between Muslims, Christians or Any Other Faith.”
Claiming that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam is fashionable, but there are limits to the level of howlers you can get away with.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron decided to push the limits of Religion of Peace political correctness straight through to the other side with a lie so insane that it just won’t fly even on the BBC.
British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday condemned an Islamic State video apparently showing a terrorist beheading a second US reporter and threatening to kill a British captive as “despicable”.
“If verified, this is a despicable and barbaric murder,” Cameron said in a statement.
“As I have said consistently over the last few weeks, ISIL [the group has previously been known by this name which is an acronym for the Islaimc State in the Levant] terrorists speak for no religion. They threaten Syrians, Iraqis, Americans and British people alike and make no distinction between Muslims, Christians or any other faith.”
Cameron may remember that the UK and the US got involved with ISIS because it was carrying out genocide against the Yazidis. The group has specifically targeted and purged Christians, Yazidis and Shiites.
It’s a coalition of Sunni Muslims.
There isn’t even any debate on the subject. This isn’t like the Syrian Civil War where the official voices spent years lying and claiming that it wasn’t a sectarian conflict. And even they admitted that it is.
It’s crazy enough to claim that ISIS speaks for no religion, but when you insist that they make no distinction between religions, you’re denying a reality that everyone accepts and that has been thoroughly documented.
Then again the Telegraph recently ran a piece by a conservative writer insisting that ISIS was not religious or political and that its actions had no meaning to it at all. This is the kind of madness that leads to 1,400 girls being raped while the leaders of the UK whistle and look incuriously in the other direction.
