upnd-lusaka-zambia-reportsThe Patriotic Front in Luapula Province has responded to claims of growing popularity of the opposition United Party for National Development in the area by saying the UPND has not penetrated the area.

Luapula Province PF chairperson Nixon Chilangwa said that the UPND still had a long way to make inroads into the province.

Chilangwa said the PF was not worried by claims of popularity by the opposition political party.

“In the current state of the MMD, in its weakened state it is more organized and more formidable party than the UPND,” he said.

“The UPND still has a long way from claiming a national character and what is making it worse is they are picking people from the political dustbin like Mr Chimbaka. The UPND, they can claim, they can dance, they can sing, they can hang if they want but still they are not popular.”

The UPND has been trying to spread its wings in Luapula Province where they have had a weak foundation by establishing structures.

But UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says everyone know that the UPND is fast spreading across the country and emerging as a party of choice.

“The way the roads are in a deplorable condition a lot of our people are dying and Mr Sata has no interest in the lives of the people that are dying,” Hichilema said.

“The Zambians have made a decision UPND is a party of choice and UPND is a party to go to. I ask all other Zambians because we cannot allow Zambia to be downgraded like the PF has done.”
